Dan Airhart
Our in-house Solutions Specialist, Dan knows the CXT Software application suite inside and out. In these guides, Dan gives us a detailed walkthrough of use cases, setup and usage for each feature.
Steven Spurlock
Often colloquially referred to by his coworkers as “The Wizard”, Steven always seems ready with some sage insight that provides clarity, making him an effective Solutions Specialist.
In this walkthrough video, Dan talks us through all of the basics of the Visual Dispatch Board, including editing shipments, changing the layout, swapping between On-Demand and Routed work, pinning shipments and drivers, viewing driver history, viewing Active Work for drivers, and more.
In this guide, Dan will explain how you can take advantage of Label-based Actions. You can associate a particular action or workflow with a Label such as Early Driver Arrival Restrictions, then apply those labels to individual records (customer records, driver records, etc). Check out and start using Labels today for better workflows!
This video is all about our upgraded Itinerary Planning module, which lets you intelligently assign thousands of shipments or route stops in a couple clicks. Traffic, weather, driver capabilities, weight and more, are factored in automatically,
Dan gives us a total walkthrough.
Steven gives us a great walkthrough of the Client Portal, where your clients can go to place orders, track parcels, view and pay invoices, view reports, and more. While placing an order, clients can select order types, shipping options, as well as notification settings. They can also use the parcel and order tracking tabs to locate their delivery.
Dan talks us through the order form in the Operations App, including all of the various tabs and fields you can use to view or add information on an order.
The Operations App gives you powerful, granular control over users and their permissions. For example, you could give a dispatcher permission to edit shipments but not rates. You could restrict a user to only interact with certain Fleets (like, only your Midwest fleet and no others). Dan gives us an basic intro to configuring permissions.
Your dashboard is the first thing you see when you open the Operations App, and you can make it whatever you want it to be. Dan gives us a basic guide to setting up dashboards, pulling in the real-time data you want to see for your operations.
You have total control over what your drivers are authorized to handle. You might have one driver who is licensed and qualified to transport sensitive medical materials, while a newer driver is restricted. Dan breaks it all down for us.
Setting up RDI allows you to prompt drivers for specific info during their workflow. This could include images for Visual Proof of Delivery (VPOD), text (how many canisters are there?), and more. Dan explains it for us in the video below.
For repeating On-Demand shipments that wouldn’t work in a route (perhaps they happen irregularly), you can set up recurring orders. Dan talks us through the set up process.
Downstream Parcel Chaining refers to pickups (anticipated or not) being automatically expected for delivery stops. Dan guides us through set up and usage in the video below.
Upstream Parcel Chaining is used on Route Stops typically for a Receive > Load > Deliver logistics sequence. Stops are often imported in, either manually or through an integration. Dan explains.
Geozones serve as alternative to rating an area with zip codes, or when a drawn, visually recognizable zone is simply preferred. Dan explains how to draw them and use cases.
Geofencing is used to indicate the area in which a driver should complete a workflow step; if a driver tries to complete that step outside the Geofencing radius, it can trigger an alert. Dan elaborates.
The Surcharge Wizard lets you make bulk updates to multiple surcharge charts simultaneously. This is useful for variable operational requirements (such as fuel prices). Dan talks us through it.
Route Optimization is a tool for calculating optimal route sequence. You can use different models for the optimization (as the crow flies, street pathing), set automatic optimization and more. Dan guides us through setup and use.
You can use Route Sort Rules to automatically convert Pickup or Delivery portions of On-Demand Shipments into stops on an existing route. This is useful if your customers submit orders through the Client Portal. Dan helps us get started.
Holidays let you designate special rules to apply on specific dates, such as reduced hours of operation, higher rates, or offering different Order Types. Dan explains how we can set up Holiday dates and apply these special rules automatically.
Mobile Option Sets are used to change the behavior of the driver app, including what drivers see and have access to. GPS behavior, driver pay visibility and more, can all be configured here. Dan walks us through the configuration process.
In this guide, Dan gives us a basic introduction to using barcodes, and shipping labels, in the Operations App and Client Portal. Watch this video before moving on to advanced guides.
In this video, Dan dives into reconciliation for short parcels (OS&D) within the Operations App, as well as how your customers can view scan history of parcels within the Client Portal.
Dan talks us through scanning from within the driving app, including understanding the UI, workflow, OS&D, completing stops, and more.
Dan guides us through advanced usage of scanning in the driver app, including troubleshooting, manual input, and more.
You can use Master Barcodes to associate multiple parcel scans with a single barcode, such as scanning a whole pallet. This can save a ton of time for drivers. Dan gives a full breakdown.
In this video, Dan talks us through receive scanning within the Driver App. In order to perform Receive Scans, drivers will need the capability enabled in the Mobile Options Sets menu of the Operations App.
Powered by Beans.ai, you can use Assisted Dispatch to either provide recommendations on dispatching or enable it for fully automated dispatching action. Dan, show us what we can do!
With Unauthenticated Tracking, a user that is not logged in, or does not have login credentials, can still track their order. Steven guides us through the configuration process.
Steven explains how to both customize the Client Portal appearance and get started with Internet Users, which are configurable user accounts in the Client Portal.
In this video, Steven explains how you can set up a Guest Internet User, which allows someone who is not a customer to place orders with you, including entering credit card information.
Inside the Operations App, the Find tool is a powerful system for retrieving your data, letting you filter by all sorts of parameters. Steven gives us a crash course to help us get started.
Watch our guide on Dispatch Zones, which can be used to assign On-Demand shipments to a fleet based on their geographical location, great if you have regional fleets. Steven breaks it down for us.
