Parcel Management Enhancements

Workflow Improvements Coming

What’s in this box??? 📦

Parcel details and scanning processes are not the most glamorous parts of the logistics world but having the right shipment information in an easy-to-read, easy-to-access format can improve your workflow in the back office and on the road.

Our latest release takes the mystery away from shipment data handling and visibility with updates to the Client Portal and Driver App.

Client-Powered Package Entry

The Client Portal serves as a simple shipment creation tool allowing your clients to input orders, pay invoices, and track shipments conveniently from anywhere online.

One piece of the puzzle that resides in the Operations App shipment creation workflow is the option to add package details. This allows CSRs to specify the type of shipment such as box, envelope, pallet, tube, or bag among other options. With the latest release, this option can now be enabled for Client Portal users to input the package type during the shipment creation process as well.

By allowing clients to input package information, you’re able to collect more thorough details about shipments that dispatchers may need for driver assignment consideration and for drivers to have handy when completing their pickups and deliveries.

High-Volume Scanning Visibility

Coming to the next Driver App release, the parcel scanning screen will be getting a facelift to improve the visibility of scanning progress for drivers and dock workers.

In situations of fast-paced and high-volume scanning, drivers need to be able to keep up with their data easily. The new layout will clearly display the total number of parcels for a stop as well as the number of parcels scanned and parcels synced with the Operations App. This revamped view aims to keep vital numbers front and center during the scanning process no matter whether you’re scanning 10 parcels or 1,000.

Displays for the number of expected parcels and overages will remain on the layout as will the buttons for camera and manual entry.

23.4 Release Updates

What's New 📰

  • Updated the Driver App’s Parcels screen to more clearly display the total number of parcels on a shipment and whether scanned parcels have synced with the server in order to increase performance. Available within the upcoming CXT Driver 3.5.9 release.
  • Added “Package Info” field to the Client Portal’s order entry and tracking views.

What's Improved 📈

  • Improved invoice creation performance in the classic Operations App.
  • Performance improvement for posting route stops and recurring orders in the classic Operations App.
  • Improvement made to add pop-up modal headers to user prompts in Find Beta in the classic and modern Operations App.
  • Updated the Audit Trail to properly log the user when a parcel is added to the distribution parcel manifest in the classic Operations App.

What's Fixed 🛠

  • Fixed an issue with completing stops in the Driver App if the stop had an invalid contract stop ID.
  • Fixed an issue when an error occurred during the loading of the on-demand dispatch board when a user does not have a driver layout saved.
  • Fixed an issue within Global Options where the override shipping label reply email was not allowing all 50 characters to be entered into the field in the classic Operations App.
  • Fixed an issue with the Credit Card setting not carrying over to a new customer from the default customer profile in the classic Operations App.
  • Fixed an issue where message formats could be triggered multiple times when the same status event is set up more than once on the customer record.

  • Fixed issue with copying a schedule when cloning a contract stop in the classic Operations App.

Works in Progress 🏭

  • An unexpected error is received while adding items to an order in the classic Operations App.
Workaround: To avoid this issue, select an item for every row selected on the Order’s Charges tab or select the row headers and completely remove the row created.
  • Subscription-based reports fail to export and generate an email when certain field types like TimeStamp are included.
Workaround: Do not include the TimeStamp field, as it is not supported.
  • Lat/Lon values are not being copied over for cloning of Inet User Address books.
Workaround: Run an Internet User Address Points bulk address update. This will run all the internet addresses through the validation process and assign updated Lat/Lon values.
  • Internet User columns do not always sort as expected in the classic Operations App.
Workaround: Click on any cell besides the header or the column that is selected, then click on the column again to sort in the other order.
  • An error occurs in the Operations App when a user tries to email settlements to drivers that do not have an associated email address and/or settlement message format within their human resources record.
Workaround: Update the driver’s human resource record with an email address and/or settlement message format.
  • Operations Monitor – Help – View Manual results in a run-time error ’13’ type mismatch.

What's Coming 🎁

  • Photo options in the Driver App’s Required Driver Input workflow prompt
  • 2D barcode scanning functionality
