RELEASE NOTES

Sleek, New UI Ports

Version: 24.9

Ride in Style

Get ready for a full-throttle upgrade! The team put the pedal to the floor for this release, adding brand new features, new UI ports in the Operations App, a cherished keyboard shortcut, quality-of-life improvements, and a variety of bug fixes.

Behind the scenes, the team also laid the groundwork for other exciting features, like extra geofence enforcement options for drivers.

But what we think you’ll like best – in response to your requests, we’ve implemented the ability for your customers to add and edit their own parcel info (including barcodes!) in the Client Portal. Let’s drive.

➕ A Much Requested Upgrade ➕

When several of you requested the same functionality, we knew it had to become a top priority for the team. So, in response, we’re pleased to provide you with enhanced parcel control from the Client Portal. Your customers will gain the ability to add and edit their parcel information via the Route Tracking and Parcel Tracking tabs.

Most importantly, they will be able to add and edit barcodes, which was a specific need many of you had. And the best part is that, like the rest of our software design philosophy, it’s permission-based, so you can toggle it on/off like a light switch for Inet Users on a per-customer basis. Groovy!

🍹 Fresh New Looks 🍹

The team has been hard at work building a new UI within the Operations App for both On Demand Shipments (now available for First Adopters), and Customer records (now available for First Adopter Beta Testing). The fixed-in-place top section of the new On Demand form lets you view and edit key details for pick-up and delivery, while the rotating bottom half lets you easily swap between additional sections like Charges, Drivers, RDI, Parcels, and more. Improved window behavior makes it simple to quickly swap between multiple On Demand forms at the same time, even as you jump to different areas of the app.

The new Customer records port offers a super readable vertical menu for entering Customer details. Configure VPOD requirements, credit card policy, and Alerts settings in seconds with the handy top bar. Tertiary info fields are tucked away under a dropdown menu, allowing you to keep your working view task-orientated and clutter-free. First Adopters can reach out to Support to apply for the Customer records port beta test.

🕹️ Command and Control 🕹️

If you’ve been with us for a while, no doubt your fingers have muscle memory for Ctrl + N in the Classic Operations App – that’s the keyboard shortcut for quickly opening a brand new Shipment form. We’ve ported that ability over to the Operations App. Now, from any tab, press Ctrl + Alt + N to get a new order form up on your screen. Power-users rejoice!

On the Visual Dispatch Board, we’ve also added the ability for you to drag and drop multiple orders or routes onto a driver at the same time, either their driver map pin or their table slot. It’s easier than ever to keep everything flowing and efficient!

  • NEW: The Customer records port is now available to First Adopter Beta Testers; First Adopters can apply for beta testing here.
  • NEW: Using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + N, you can open a new Shipment order form from anywhere in the Operations App
  • NEW: Drag n’ drop multiple orders or routes onto a driver at once, either onto their driver map pin or their table slot
  • NEW: Customize message format subject lines when emailing Find results, with the Message Format Subject Override field
  • NEW: Improved behavior of the address search bar in On-Demand Shipments to provide more information

What's Fixed 🛠

  • Fixed an issue where a parcel’s pieces and weight fields on the Client Portal > Place Order page were not updating automatically when the user added parcels through the Create Multiple Parcels radio button option.
  • Fixed an uncommon issue where a false warning would incorrectly report that a notification was not sent to a driver if the Dispatch Board time zone and server time zone were different
  • Fixed an issue where Shipment order stops created via route sort rules would sometimes falsely display an ‘Open’ value in the Status column of the Route Tracking section of the Client Portal, even after the stop was completed
  • Fixed a rare issue where a deduction item could be incorrectly added to the first settlement each month in specific workflow scenarios
  • Fixed an issue where company addresses entered via the New Customer form in the Client Portal would not appear validated if missing latitude and longitude
  • Fixed an issue where an otherwise valid email address that began with an underscore would be rejected by the email validation tool
  • Fixed a visual glitch that could occur in the Operations App when swapping between Internet User address books
  • Fixed a visual glitch where it would sometimes appear that a Driver Record or Human Resource Record has not properly saved.
  • Fixed a nonsensical error that could occur when right-clicking on the CONTRACT route on the Classic Operations App Dispatch Board
  • Fixed an issue where an error could occur when trying to clone contract stops within the Classic Operations App
  • Fixed an issue where audit trails would not properly record a user who terminated a Human Resource Record.
  • Fixed an issue where the Visual Dispatch Board’s Route Manifest where search results would not display properly when deactivating and reactivating stops on days other than the current day.
  • Fixed an issue where, within the Client Portal, pieces and weight requirements could be unclear to the user under specific conditions
  • Fixed an issue where a cloned rate chart showed its creator in the database as the original user and not the user who cloned it.
  • Fixed an issue where the title bar icon for Parcel Items would not appear on popups.
  • Fixed an issue where canceled orders were appearing as future orders in a customer’s Order History in the Classic Operations App and Operations Orders.
  • Resolved several micro-issues with the UI and pop-up messages, such as the Client Portal Tracking Configuration menu scrolling slightly off-screen and a minor punctuation error on the Unsaved Changes pop-up in the Client Portal
  • Resolved a rare edge-case issue, where route sort rules could post Shipment orders on the wrong date if the order is both in a different time zone to the server, and the order placement is close to midnight; addressed by adding the ability to assign time zones to route sort rules
  • Resolved an issue with incorrect driver assignments by implementing fleet filtering in the Visual Dispatch Board’s Assign Driver popup so that dispatchers can only assign shipments or routes to drivers in fleets that they have access to and that are currently active.
  • Adjusted the settlement process to provide clearer messaging when the queue is still busy, preventing duplicate Route Pay entries.
  • Modified the way sequence validation for the last stop is calculated for Route Scan Data in order to prevent a rare edge-case where duplicates could be created

Work in Progress 🏭

  • A rare issue occurs when assigning Operations Shipments to drivers when they do not have a specific capability and when the capability item contains a “-” in the name.
WORKAROUND: Remove any dashes (-) from the name of the Capability.

What's Coming 🎁

  • The team has been laying the backend groundwork for some exciting functionality we have planned for next year
  • Geofencing enforcement upgrades; more options to ensure drivers are present on-site before they can engage with a pickup or delivery
  • Your customers will also be able to edit their parcel information on the Track Order page of the Client Portal
