Assisted Dispatch: The Hero You Didn’t Know You Needed
When you choose Request Assisted Dispatch, CXT connects to Wise Systems’ Dynamic Optimization Engine via API and asks the system to determine the five best drivers to handle an on-demand shipment based on the fleet’s real-time data.
In order for Wise Systems to make this recommendation, CXT provides the following information:
Wise Systems’ Dynamic Optimization Engine then starts the process of determining the five best drivers by first looking at the drivers who would be violating constraints if they were to take the on-demand order. These constraints are vehicle type, unit capacity, weight capacity, maximum route duration, and driver shift times. The drivers determined to be infeasible are eliminated from consideration. After that, by default Wise Systems prioritizes the remaining pool of drivers, ranking the drivers in ascending order, with the most optimal driver first.
Wise Systems lets you choose how the optimization engine picks the optimal driver. There are five options currently available:
Total Delays on Route: Wise Systems analyzes drivers based on the total projected delayed stops(a stop that will miss its time window) on the driver’s route after the driver would be 1 given the on-demand shipment. Drivers are ranked from the fewest total delays to the most total delays.
Added Delays on Route: Wise Systems analyzes drivers based on the additional delayed stops(a stop that will miss its time window) on the driver’s route after the driver would be given the on-demand shipment. Drivers are ranked from the fewest delays added to the most delays added.
Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA): Wise Systems analyzes drivers based on the estimated time a driver would arrive to the on-demand shipment. Drivers are ranked from earliest to arrive to latest to arrive.
Note on Bulk Orders: Wise Systems can also recommend the optimal driver to take a batch of orders as well.
Based on the metric selected, Wise Systems analyzes the data, ranks every driver from most efficient to least efficient to take the on-demand shipment, and returns recommendations of the top five drivers to CXT. Finally, CXT displays the recommended drivers for dispatcher selection. While highly complex, this process is executed rapidly, enabling on-demand orders to be dispatched almost immediately.
