22.3: Sweet! Enhanced Scanning 📦

Location data - 22.3 featured image

Knowing where your drivers and shipments are is a never-ending feat in the logistics industry. Are my drivers where they need to be right now? Were the shipments picked up at the right location? Where does this pallet go again? 🔍

In our 22.3 release, we introduce a few features that tie into our Driver App capabilities to help reinforce key location data across your on-demand and routed parcels.

Simplify Vehicle Loading with Intelligent Scanning Functionality

If you’ve ever worked on the dock or been responsible for loading a truck with shipments for the day, then you know it can be a challenge sorting through parcels and keeping everything in line. 📦 That’s where our advanced scanning functionality comes in.

CXT Software Routed Scan Data Display

By enabling our new Routed Scan Data Display feature located within the Mobile Option Sets, carriers will be able to select a number of data options to display to within the Driver App every time a parcel barcode or reference barcode is scanned.

This display will provide stop level information related to the scanned parcel barcode such as route ID, sequence number, location name, address, references, and Min/Max/Preferred times, helping drivers and dock workers during receive scanning, warehouse sorts, and vehicle loading. Armed with this data, warehouse workers can instantly see where each parcel should be sorted within the warehouse and drivers can efficiently load their vehicles based on chronological stop sequences so they can quickly identify which parcels need to be delivered next while out on the road.

No more wondering where the parcel is buried in the vehicle, or needing a paper manifest to keep track of what parcels are linked to which stop. 📋 While using the Driver App, drivers can easily find the stop data with just a scan.

Release Updates

What's New 📰

  • New “View Assisted Dispatch Results” option on the on-demand dispatch board and route manifest’s right-click menu that will display the previously requested best driver/route recommendations for Assisted Dispatch, so users do not have to leave the original modal display up on their screen.

What's Improved 📈

  • Updated Assisted Dispatch feature to include a new option that allows customers to ignore order sequences when making best driver recommendations.
  • Updated Email Driver Settlements options to allow users to email settlements to a single driver when specified in the Driver ID field instead of having to email out records to the entire group.
  • Updated QuickBooks 2019+ invoice export to export totals and subtotals without rounding values.
  • Updated the Plug N Pay credit card authorization email to send to the correct party.
  • Adjusted customer notification rules for the “Order – Rate Change” status event, so only a single notification is sent out when there is a rate change.
  • Improvement made to sort the Maintenance> Custom Tables names in alpha-numeric order.
  • Improved error handling for credit card processing and bulk validations.

What's Fixed 🛠

  • Fixed an issue that could cause drivers to be randomly logged out.
  • Fixed an issue where timezone labels are not showing on the route stop in the Operations App.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause emails to fail if semicolons were used to separate email addresses.
  • Fixed a temporary issue with QuickBooks Online that was causing customers to be placed on credit hold if they had credits on their account causing a negative balance due amount.

Works in Progress 🏭

  • Unexpected error is being thrown when emailing drivers a settlement from a multi-driver settlement with the incorrect fleet.
Workaround: Only enter in Driver IDs that are included within the enabled fleets. The error is displayed when a Driver ID is manually entered that isn’t within the user’s enabled fleets.
  • Entering an address in the Client Portal that does not validate causes old lat/lon values from previously validated addresses to be used for distance calculation and could cause incorrect distances to be placed on orders.
  • Subscription-based reports fail to export and generate an email when certain field types like TimeStamp are included.
Workaround: Do not include the TimeStamp field, as it is not supported.
  • Lat/Lon values are not being copied over for cloning of Inet User Address books.

Workaround: Run an Internet User Address Points bulk address update. This will run all the internet addresses through the validation process and assign updated Lat/Lon values.
  • Audit trails may not be viewable from our modern Operations App if the logged in user ID contains special characters.

Workaround: Users with IDs that contain special characters can view full audit trail data within the classic Operations App.
  • Internet User columns do not always sort as expected in the Operations App.

Workaround: Click on any cell besides the header or the column that is selected, then click on the column again to sort in the other order.
  • An error occurs in the Operations App when a user tries to email settlements to drivers that do not have an associated email address and/or settlement message format within their human resources record.

Workaround: Update the driver’s human resource record with an email address and/or settlement message format.
  • Operations Monitor – Help – View Manual results in a run-time error ’13’ type mismatch.

What's Coming 🎁

  • Multi factor authentication for the modern Operations App and Client Portal
  • Parcel Portal tracking page for the modern Operations App
  • Status event triggers for “Out for Delivery” and “Next Stop” SMS and email notifications
